Dear Eric,
I have a typical 15-year-old daughter. She means the world to me, and I strive to do everything possible for her, fully aware of the often cold responses common at her age. Normally, her behavior doesn’t trouble me. It’s something I expect and can manage.
Lately, she has been asking for money to spend during her outings with friends. An interesting opportunity arose from my employer, offering a contest to draw a safety picture with a $100 prize. My daughter expressed interest in participating and requested a picture of my workplace.
To support her, I arranged for a photograph to be taken of myself standing in front of one of our machines at work. I promptly sent it to her, facilitating her entry into the contest.
