Caitlin Clark Leads Indiana Fever to Victory with Efficient Performance

1 month ago 0

On a productive Sunday night, Caitlin Clark played a key role in Indiana Fever’s win over Seattle Storm. Clark scored 21 points, shooting 5-of-10 from the field, successfully converting all nine free throws, and making two 3-pointers. This marked the first instance since September 19, 2024, where she took 10 or fewer field-goal attempts, performing similarly against Washington Mystics when she made 2-of-5 shots across 19 minutes.

After the game, Clark reflected on her strategic approach. She understood the importance of team involvement over heavy shooting in securing victories. In this game, she achieved 10 assists for the first time since July 13, 2025, against Dallas Wings, right before an injury sidelined her for most of the 2025 season.

“No reason to press. Get my teammates involved,” Clark told The Athletic. “Take what the defense gives me. I thought I did a good job of getting to the line, so there’s no need to shoot excessively. I only played 23 minutes but managed to draw nine free throws. I aim to improve in securing free points.”

Indiana Fever secured an 89-78 victory over Seattle. Clark led the scoring, with Kelsey Mitchell contributing 17 points in 28 minutes and Sophie Cunningham providing 17 points and three rebounds from the bench. The team managed a win despite Aliyah Boston’s absence due to a lower-leg injury.
