Gunfire was reported near the White House on Saturday evening, as stated by the F.B.I. director and a witness at the scene.

F.B.I. Director Kash Patel shared on social media that the F.B.I. was present and collaborating with the Secret Service after shots were fired near the White House grounds.

Allison Robbert, a New York Times photographer, reported hearing approximately 20 to 30 gunshots originating from the north lawn of the White House.

“Journalists heard it from outside the press room and were ushered inside by Secret Service,” she conveyed in a text message.
