The latest Economist/YouGov poll reveals President Trump’s approval rating at an all-time low of 34 percent.
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel made this a central topic on Thursday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Kimmel humorously compared Trump’s rating to that of the film ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop,’ stating, “He is now down to 34 percent. He has the same approval rating as ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop.’ The Blart of the Deal.”
Kimmel emphasized the decline, saying, “Trump’s approval numbers, like his testicles, have sunk to an all-time low. They are lower than they’ve ever been.” Additionally, he pointed out that Trump is trailing JD Vance by two points, remarking, “I don’t have a joke for that. I just want to make sure he knows, he’s two points behind JD Vance.”
A White House spokesperson downplayed the significance of the poll, referencing the previous election’s outcomes, but Kimmel noted the current situation: “Now it’s May of 2026, and everybody hates him.”
The Punchiest Punchlines: Trump $250 Bill
The Treasury Department’s proposal to issue a $250 bill featuring President Trump’s likeness was another comedic target for Kimmel. He joked, “There he is, the least-popular bill since Cosby.” He continued, remarking on the irony of using such a bill given the current economic situation: “What better way to pay for a single tank of gas than with a bill featuring the head of the man who made it cost that much?”
