Ariana Grande Steps Back from Public Eye Following Tour

2 weeks ago 0

Ariana Grande has decided to withdraw from an upcoming stage musical in London and plans to step back from the public eye. The decision comes amid intense scrutiny she has been facing. Grande was set to star with Jonathan Bailey in Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Sunday in the Park with George’ at the Barbican Centre in 2027.

Empire Street Productions announced on Sunday that Grande will no longer join the production. The company expressed understanding and support for her decision. The show will proceed next summer, with new casting to be announced later.

A representative confirmed to People magazine that the 33-year-old singer will retreat from public view after completing her Eternal Sunshine Tour. The statement highlighted her desire to end the tour happily and healthily before taking a well-earned break from public engagements.

Recent commentary on Grande’s physical appearance has increased following the release of her ‘Petal’ music video. In the video, she portrays a performer repeatedly rejected by male judges during auditions. Grande has previously addressed such scrutiny through her music, notably in her 2024 song ‘Yes, And?’ where she sings against commentary on her appearance.

In 2023, Grande shared a TikTok video addressing comments on her appearance. The viral clip reminded followers that individuals might be enduring personal struggles. She urged viewers to treat others and themselves gently.

Grande’s current tour is scheduled to conclude in London on September 1. Known initially as a child star on Nickelodeon, Grande launched her music career with her debut album ‘Yours Truly’ in 2013. Throughout her career, she has earned three Grammy Awards and an Academy Award nomination for her role in the ‘Wicked’ movie adaptation.
