Baron Corbin has made a triumphant return to WWE by securing the United States Championship at SummerSlam. This marks a notable comeback for Corbin, who faced Trick Williams during the event at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Corbin’s victory came after several strategic maneuvers. The match showcased Williams accompanied by rapper Lil Yachty, whose involvement attempted to sway the contest. At one point, Yachty threatened Corbin with the “Trick Stick,” diverting Corbin’s focus. However, Yachty’s interference backfired. When Corbin brought the championship belt into the ring, he managed to hip-check Williams into Yachty, sending him crashing through a table.
With Williams and the referee temporarily distracted, Corbin used this opportunity to strike Williams with the belt. The decisive moment occurred when Corbin executed his End of Days finishing move, allowing him to pin Williams and clinch the championship. This victory marks Corbin’s second reign as U.S. champion, following his initial triumph in 2017.
After departing WWE in 2024, Corbin excelled in the independent wrestling scene, notably in Major League Wrestling, where he became a tag team champion alongside Donovan Dijak. His return to WWE and recent win reaffirms his standing as a formidable competitor.
Trick Williams saw his reign as champion come to an end after 105 days, having claimed the title from Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42.
