Barry Manilow postponed his Kentucky concert only 45 minutes before its scheduled start. The rescheduling was due to unforeseen circumstances, as Manilow announced on X, where he mentioned his diagnosis of lung cancer last year. The singer did not provide further details regarding the cancellation.

Fans expressed mixed reactions, with some criticizing the short notice and others offering support. Messages of encouragement appeared on X, with fans urging Manilow to prioritize his health.

In December, Manilow shared his early-stage lung cancer diagnosis after an MRI revealed a cancerous spot on his left lung. Originally spotted following bronchitis, the fortunate early detection allowed for a timely intervention. He mentioned no need for chemotherapy or radiation, opting instead for surgery.

Manilow faced additional tour rescheduling in February and March after receiving advice from his surgeon. The 82-year-old artist emphasized his determination to return to performing, acknowledging the limitations on his health but showing optimism for improved strength.

Manilow had to cancel the “Hits Come Home” residency dates at Westgate Resort in Las Vegas. Despite this, he reported progress in his cancer treatment and expressed eagerness to continue his UK arena shows in June. He invited fans to join him in the UK, promising a return to his Las Vegas residency in July.

While health setbacks have led to several cancellations, Manilow remains committed to recovery and returning to the stage. His communication with fans reflects his gratitude and determination as he continues his journey.
