Caitlin Clark Sets New WNBA Assist Record

Caitlin Clark continues to distinguish herself in the WNBA, reaching milestones ahead of many players. In a decisive 109-75 victory over the Las Vegas Aces, Clark reached her 600th career assist in only 72 games, establishing a new league record.

Clark’s performance was not standout by her standards, as she scored 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and made six assists. She is currently on a minutes restriction because of a persistent back issue. Despite playing only 24 minutes, her contribution was part of a team effort that secured a 34-point victory. Teammates Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Sophie Cunningham were key in scoring for the team.

Mitchell led the Indiana Fever with 27 points. Boston contributed 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Cunningham came off the bench to score 20 points, making six successful 3-point shots.

Clark’s record-setting assist happened late in the third quarter with a bounce pass to Monique Billings, who scored an easy layup. At this point, the Fever were up by 13 points and continued to extend their lead in the fourth quarter. With more playing time, Clark might increase her assist counts further.

“I feel good. Had a hard workout day after the Phoenix game. Felt great there, and then obviously, we had practice yesterday. So, feel ready to go and excited to play 25 minutes, and excited for my spurts to be a little bit longer, so that should be fun,”

Clark shared her thoughts on her minutes and injury management. In her impressive rookie season, Clark made 337 assists. Injuries cut short her 2025 season, limiting her to 115 assists, while this season she has accumulated 148 so far.

Averaging 7.8 assists per game, Clark ranks second in the league, trailing only behind Phoenix Mercury’s Alyssa Thomas.
