2 weeks ago 0

The New Orleans Saints have officially reached a four-year contract extension with wide receiver Chris Olave. The agreement, valued at up to $132 million, includes $90 million in guaranteed money. This deal was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

On Friday, Saints head coach Kellen Moore shared his thoughts on what the signing means for the team. Moore expressed enthusiasm, stating, “It’s awesome for our team, it’s awesome for Chris.” He elaborated on Olave’s journey, highlighting the challenges he has faced and overcome in his career. “Just awesome for what he’s gone through in his career, the success he’s had, also the things he’s had to navigate,” Moore said through ProFootballTalk.

Moore acknowledged that though the business aspects sometimes take priority, the shared goal of the team remains clear. “At the end of the day, when everyone is shooting for the same goal, it’s a matter of time before it gets figured out,” Moore remarked, emphasizing the collective excitement about the team’s future.

Chris Olave’s journey with the Saints has seen its ups and downs. After being sidelined during much of the 2024 season due to concussions, Olave made a strong comeback in 2025. His performance reached new heights with career highs, including 100 catches, 1,163 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns.

The Saints and Olave will begin their 2026 regular season with a Week 1 game against the Detroit Lions on September 13, aiming to start the season strong and continue building on their progress.
