Concerns Over Potential Peace Deal with Iranian Regime

Cameron Khansarinia, chief of staff to exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, voiced apprehensions about a possible peace agreement between President Donald Trump and the Iranian regime. Speaking on ‘Sunday Morning Futures,’ he highlighted the skepticism among the Iranian populace regarding the regime’s commitment to any deal.

Khansarinia criticized the Islamic Republic and its allies for decades of oppression. He noted that Iranians are wary of the regime receiving a ‘lifeline’ through any new agreement. “The people communicate their anxiety, fearing their regime of 47 years may gain another opportunity to suppress them,” he stated.

“Iranians will not settle for anything less than full freedom,” Khansarinia declared. He argued that any deal with the ‘criminal regime’ lacks legitimacy, as “the people of Iran do not recognize this regime.”

He expressed doubt about the regime’s potential compliance with any agreements, citing its history of deceit.

Meanwhile, President Trump reported constructive progress in negotiations, maintaining a hardline stance on sanctions. He emphasized the importance of a cautious approach, ensuring no errors: “The Blockade will remain until a certified agreement is finalized.” Trump’s statement on Truth Social reiterated his goal to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

A U.S. senior official mentioned possible ‘significant accommodations’ for Iran regarding sanctions relief, contingent on Iran’s concessions around enriched uranium.

Khansarinia stressed the significance of the current moment, questioning the long-term strategy: “Do we push this regime beyond its limits and empower the Iranian people, or do we enter a questionable agreement with them?”
