Concerns Raised Over Security at Seattle Festival Before Shooting

A content creator raised alarms about security protocols at a popular food festival in Seattle just a day before a tragic shooting occurred. The incident left three people dead and four others injured.

The shooting took place around 6 p.m. on Sunday during the closing hours of the Bite of Seattle. This annual event attracts hundreds of food and retail vendors, along with performers. Authorities are investigating and have asked the public to avoid the area located northwest of downtown Seattle. Police have taken one suspect into custody and continue to search for another. Assistant Seattle Police Chief Tyrone Davis stated that investigators believe the individuals involved were exchanging gunfire.

On Saturday, a content creator known as “leebotracks” shared a video on TikTok. In the recording, he filmed himself walking through the festival. He reported a lack of security, stating, “no security, no pat down, no search to the bag.”

He urged festival organizers to implement safety measures. “Make it happen. Keep the people safe. You should not be able to just walk up into this festival with all these people, with all these vendors, with no security,” he emphasized.

Following the shooting, the creator addressed the situation in another video posted late Sunday night. He expressed, “I tried to let everybody know how security was being handled. Nobody can say I didn’t try to let people know. People really were bashing me in my comment sections on the previous videos.”

The specific security measures in place at the festival remain unclear. Last year, after a vendor reported a break-in, organizers claimed to have a “strong record of security.” The story is still developing with updates forthcoming.
