Conflict Between Leftist Journalist and Trump Staffers Escalates

2 weeks ago 0

Recently, a left-wing journalist who scrutinizes President Donald Trump’s activities online criticized a young female Trump staff member. He accused her of pushing photographers away from Trump, a part of behavior he claims to have noticed repeatedly.

On his social media account, Aaron Rupar shared a video from C-SPAN. The clip captured Trump alongside family members near Air Force 1, getting ready to leave Ireland. In the video, Ellie Acra, responsible for managing media presence as a White House press wrangler, directed the press to clear the area, using the usual directive: “Thank you, press.” These wranglers play a crucial role in coordinating the media during presidential events, spanning both Republican and Democrat administrations.

Rupar’s post rapidly gained attention, stirring responses from various users, including the White House. Many defended the young White House staffer against Rupar’s comments. The White House’s rapid response social media account countered Rupar, identifying him as a persistent critic of Natalie Harp, a White House aide.

“This is a press wrangler doing her job — and doing it well,” the White House account commented. They criticized Rupar, suggesting his behavior on social media is inappropriate.

Reacting to these exchanges, Rupar expressed frustration online. He claimed the White House’s statements lead to harassment and threats against him. “For the second straight day, their taxpayer-funded account accuses me, highlighting my age, and triggering a flood of hostile messages,” Rupar noted.

On a previous occasion, the White House reacted to Rupar for sharing photos of Harp, insinuating allegations of an inappropriate connection with Trump. Rupar’s posts, often tagged with #TravelWithNatalie, prompted the White House to underscore that presidential aides typically accompany Trump on travels.

“President Trump does, in fact, travel with staff,” stated their response, dismissing Rupar’s claims.

In a related political debate, Senator Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., entered the conversation. He referenced allegations about Trump and Harp in a campaign speech, criticizing Trump’s commitment to his role. His remarks drew criticism from political opponents, highlighting ongoing tensions in the political arena.

Fox News Digital sought comments from Rupar and the White House on these issues.
