Rep. Marcy Kaptur, representing Ohio, was involved in a car accident on Sunday while en route to a church service in the vicinity of Toledo. The incident left her with non-life-threatening injuries, according to her office.
The 80-year-old congresswoman was sitting in the passenger seat when the vehicle was hit. Although hospitalized, she remained active and alert by Sunday evening.
Her office released a statement to inform the public of her condition and reassure everyone that her injuries do not pose a severe risk to her health.
