Controversy Surrounds Streamer Sneako After NYC Remarks

Prominent streamer Sneako is facing intense backlash following a livestream in New York City where he reportedly declared the city to be the “Islamic Republic of New York-istan.” He also suggested that Islam would spread to “every household.” These comments quickly drew criticism from notable right-wing figures.

According to Fox News, Sneako made these remarks during a livestream on the platform Kick, coinciding with Egyptian fans celebrating a World Cup victory over Australia in New York. Fox News identifies Sneako, whose real name is Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy, as a controversial internet figure with over one million followers on a major streaming platform. It also notes that he converted to Islam in 2023.

During the June 3 livestream, Sneako was surrounded by Egyptian supporters, with visible drums, horns, and flags. He shouted “Allahu Akbar” and made statements about Islam being prominent in New York City. He also referenced New York City’s Mayor Zohran Mamdani, stating: “Welcome to Mamdani’s New York. You see this city? You see how it looks? Inshallah, your city looks just like this too.”

Alex Jones Calls for Deportation

The comments sparked immediate outrage online, notably among conservative commentators. Fox News reported the clip gained tens of millions of views across multiple platforms such as Instagram and X. InfoWars founder Alex Jones demanded, “Deport him NOW!!” to which Elon Musk replied, “Yes!”

The controversy continued to grow as Sneako refused to apologize or retract his statements. Instead, he seemed to embrace the situation. Fox News mentioned that Sneako posted, “Every knee will bow. Every tongue confess,” in the wake of the uproar. Responding to Musk’s agreement with Jones, he told Musk, a South African native, to “go back to Africa,” insisting, “This is my country.”

Author Gad Saad’s post raising concerns about religious demographics gained Musk’s “Troubling” response. Fox News reported other X users suggested Sneako should be sent to Iran or called him a “disgusting creature.”

Over the weekend, Sneako posted another message on X, declaring: “Islamic Republic of Ameristan. Inshallah your household hears the call to prayer blaring through the window 5x a day.” Alex Jones reacted by stating, “So Sneako is back at it again, now declaring America to be an ‘Islamic republic.’”

Political Impact

The incident arises amid increased national attention on Mayor Zohran Mamdani. His election had already sparked significant political debate. In his victory speech, he described New York as “a city of immigrants” that would now be “led by an immigrant.” As the city’s first Muslim mayor and a democratic socialist, his election has influenced internal debates within the Democratic Party regarding its ideological direction.
