Craig Carton’s Defense of Tim Tebow Amid Life Surge Allegations

5 days ago 0

Craig Carton recently voiced criticism of investigative reporter Pablo Torre for his focus on Tim Tebow in a report concerning Life Surge. The report alleged that the Christian-focused organization involved Tebow in a business model that pressured individuals into spending large sums without clear returns.

Carton acknowledged Torre as a skilled reporter but took issue with his linking of Tebow to the alleged conduct of Life Surge without clear evidence of Tebow’s awareness. Carton emphasized the potential harm to Tebow’s reputation without solid proof. The discussion took place on Carton’s show, OutKick’s “The Craig Carton Show.”

“Tim Tebow doesn’t deserve to be dragged into this unless you got him nailed. And if you don’t have him nailed to the cross on this story, you have defamed him. And if I’m Tim Tebow, I find that to be actionable. I find that to be regrettable,” Carton remarked.

Tebow has responded by indicating a pause in his relationship with Life Surge. He told The Gainesville Sun that he takes the allegations seriously and intends to investigate the facts before proceeding.

Mother Jones, which collaborated with Torre, reported Tebow had spoken at multiple Life Surge events spanning 2024 to 2025, with plans for more in 2026. Despite not disputing Torre’s investigation, Carton criticized him for seemingly using Tebow’s reputation to elevate his own profile.

Carton condemned the use of Tebow’s name for attention and called for legal authorities to scrutinize Life Surge thoroughly. He demanded a serious investigation to verify if exploitative practices had occurred against people potentially losing their savings.

“You’re using Tim Tebow’s name and popularity to further your own career. You’re using Tim Tebow to get attention for your story,” Carton argued. “That would be awful if that’s happening. But how dare you sully the name and reputation of a man who has only done things for others? A man that has dedicated his life to service of his Lord.”

Carton underscored the damage to Tebow’s public image while discussing the inadequacy of Torre’s evidence on whether Tebow knew or participated in the alleged misconduct.

“When you go down that road and you sully the reputation of somebody who’s dedicated his entire life to service, that is a slippery slope that I want no part of,” Carton maintained. “So, you better have this locked down, Pablo, and maybe you do, but to throw out an allegation, attach a dude’s name to it? Shame on you.”
