A cruise passenger from Georgia is facing charges after allegedly attacking two children aboard a Carnival cruise ship. David Lawrence Crosby II, 44, was arrested on July 27 on two counts of child abuse, as per Brevard County Sheriff’s Office records.
The incident took place on July 26 on the Carnival Glory. This ship typically departs from Port Canaveral in Florida, heading to the Bahamas. According to the affidavit, Crosby was reportedly intoxicated when he encountered a group of children playing tag in a hallway.
Crosby allegedly struck one child in the face, causing a bloody lip and head pain. He is accused of hitting another child in the stomach. This incident was reportedly captured by the ship’s security cameras.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested Crosby, who admitted to being heavily intoxicated and claimed he could not recall the incident.
Carnival Cruise Line’s spokesperson confirmed the security team reacted promptly. The spokesperson stated that Crosby was confined to his cabin for the remainder of the cruise and reported to local law enforcement upon returning to Port Canaveral. He faced a code of conduct violation fee and was added to Carnival’s Do Not Sail list.
Crosby was released after posting a $20,000 bond. He appeared in court and pleaded not guilty. His arraignment is scheduled for August 25.
