Yet in baseball, some fans align with wealthy owners, promoting restrictions on player salaries in pursuit of “fairness.” This stance lacks credibility.

A salary cap doesn’t magically convert underperforming teams into adept ones, nor does it enhance drafting skills or improve talent development. It merely provides thrifty owners with a rationale to profit from revenue-sharing while dodging efforts to construct competitive teams.

Skubal emphasized that the Dodgers didn’t leverage any unusual advantage to acquire him. The opportunity was available to all teams. Los Angeles focused on smart drafting, trading, and prioritizing victory. Rather than penalizing the Dodgers, other teams should strive to replicate their success.
