Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s family visit to Europe included more than a notable reunion with King Charles. On July 23, Meghan shared a glimpse into their “summer holiday” on Instagram. Accompanied by kids Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, the family seemed to explore Portugal, as indicated by an Alentejo region sign seen in a restaurant picture.
The family of four spent time soaking up the sun at the beach, enjoying the countryside, and having fun in the pool. Harry was spotted in a backwards baseball cap tossing his daughter playfully in the pool. Meghan captured another moment where she watched her husband and children head toward the waves from the sand. Additional images showed the family walking through a garden, with the children’s faces obscured to protect their privacy.
A memorable snapshot showed Archie in the cockpit of an airplane, receiving guidance from pilots. Harry, having served as an Apache helicopter pilot for the Army Air Corps, is no stranger to aviation. One more photo featured Meghan with their rescue beagle, Mamma Mia, enjoying leisure moments.
These vacation snapshots were released nearly two weeks after Lilibet and Archie’s reunion with their grandfather, King Charles, and Queen Camilla. The encounter, which happened after four years, took place at Highgrove House, Camilla and Charles’ private residence in Gloucestershire, England, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace to the BBC.
The reunion held special significance for the family, considering Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from senior royal duties. Their move to California in 2020 was, in part, due to ongoing security concerns which they have frequently voiced.
