Evaluating Costco’s Rotisserie Chicken Chef Salad

1 week ago 0

Costco has introduced a Rotisserie Chicken Chef Salad to its food court menu. It boasts 59 grams of protein and 840 calories. A dietitian advises considering more than just protein numbers.

Priced at $7.99, the salad features rotisserie chicken, eggs, bacon bits, cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and creamy peppercorn ranch dressing.

Jamilee McIntyre, a dietitian in Florida, emphasizes other factors in dietary choices, such as sodium and saturated fat content. She states that although the protein source is whole foods like chicken and eggs, the 840-calorie count may be excessive for many seeking a lighter meal.

The Rotisserie Chicken Chef Salad is not alone in high protein content at Costco. The Chicken Caesar Salad offers 58 grams of protein, just a gram less. Additionally, the Chicken Bake contains 53 grams of protein.

Online feedback on the salad has been mixed. Some customers appreciate its flavor, while others criticize its portion sizes and excessive salt. One Reddit user found the toppings excessive compared to the lettuce and wouldn’t purchase it again. Another valued the dressing and returned to buy more.

Costco has not commented on the reviews. The feedback suggests diverse opinions, highlighting the importance of considering the entire nutritional profile when selecting meals.
