FBI Targets Illegal Voting Activities
The FBI recently charged four noncitizens in New Jersey for illegal voting activities. Under the leadership of FBI Director Kash Patel, efforts to address illegal voting have intensified. In parallel, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is advocating for anti-ICE measures, such as banning police cooperation with ICE and permitting lawsuits against federal agents.
Case of Denise Nataly Migliore
A lawful permanent resident from Australia, Denise Nataly Migliore, was arrested for allegedly voting illegally in federal elections in Louisiana. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana disclosed that Migliore was indicted on four counts, including making false statements to register to vote and participating in illegal voting.
“This alien from Australia now faces federal charges for falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen and illegally casting ballots in two elections,” stated acting Assistant DHS Secretary of Public Affairs Lauren Bis.
Details of the Charges
Migliore allegedly misrepresented her U.S. citizenship status to register for federal elections in October 2022 and October 2024. Her actions led to illegal voting in both years. Migliore’s arrest occurred on July 1 at a federal courthouse in New Orleans, following an ICE investigation.
If convicted, Migliore may face up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. ICE emphasizes the seriousness of illegal voting by noncitizens and promises stringent actions against those who breach federal election laws.
