The incident happened at about 4 p.m. in the Marble Hill area. The NYPD has made it clear that their officers were not part of the occurrence. A police spokesperson emphasized to Newsweek, “The NYPD is not involved at all,” and redirected further questions to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
