Fox News anchor Shannon Bream showcased the widespread celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary across the nation. These events included a record-breaking fireworks show in Washington, D.C., speeches by President Donald Trump at national landmarks, a gathering of military veterans—including a 103-year-old World War II veteran—and an international naval review in New York Harbor.
The segment highlighted patriotic displays and unity. Two months after President Trump announced that Washington, D.C. would have the ‘largest fireworks show in history’, Guinness World Records confirmed this claim. The fireworks display consisted of 840,537 fireworks, achieved by Freedom 250 and Pyrotecnico, Inc, in Washington D.C. on July 4, 2026. Although weather caused some delays, hundreds of thousands still watched the impressive display which began just before midnight.
During President Trump’s late-night July 4 address, he estimated that the crowd originally expected to be 350,000 was reduced to 150,000 at the National Mall. The fireworks display, part of the Freedom 250 celebration, continued for about 40 minutes. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum had explained in June that the fireworks would be launched from several sites due to its immense scale.
Previously, the record for the largest fireworks celebration was held by a megachurch’s New Year’s Eve show in 2016, featuring 810,904 fireworks. The White House had initiated Freedom 250 as a public-private partnership, with the president serving as the chair. On July 4th, over 850,000 fireworks lit up the National Mall and the Potomac River in a spectacular event.
Freedom 250 spokesperson Danielle Alvarez noted that the historic display symbolized unity, resilience, and pride as the nation begins its next 250 years. The White House lauded President Trump for his role in achieving this celebration, which included an air show, the record-breaking fireworks display, and an inspiring speech before hundreds of thousands of attendees.
