What started as a wine tasting event for adults has evolved into an annual summer highlight for Northbrook residents. The event, Grapes on the Green, celebrates its fourth year on June 20 at Village Green Park. Sponsored by the Village of Northbrook and the Northbrook Park District, the gathering invites adults for an evening filled with wine tasting, games, snacks, and live music.
Event Details
Grapes on the Green runs from 4 to 8 p.m. and features performances by guitarist and vocalist Peter Warren. Attendees will enjoy a mix of jazz, bossa nova, instrumentals, and contemporary music.
Mike Goodman, Northbrook Park District Board President, shared that the event caters to the community’s desire for adults-only activities. He highlighted the enthusiastic response each year, calling it a relaxed and welcoming experience.
This year, the Village of Northbrook celebrates its 125th anniversary. Northbrook President Kathryn Ciesla remarked on the event’s role in showcasing the community’s vibrant spirit.
Location and Logistics
Held at the intersection of Shermer and Meadow Roads, the event attracts hundreds annually. Tickets for tasting are priced at $49. They include 12 wine tastings from family-owned Chicago Wine, a tote, a signature wine glass with the anniversary logo, and a snack box. Non-tasting tickets are available for $30 and include featured items without alcohol.
Wine Selection
