A former national security official from the Reagan administration is raising concerns about a developing “red-green alliance.” This refers to a partnership between radical Islamists and far-left socialists. The warning highlights a shared anti-American agenda between these groups.
Frank Gaffney’s Perspective
Frank Gaffney, who spoke with Fox News Digital, emphasizes the influence of the Democratic Socialists of America. He believes this alliance poses potential threats to U.S. national security.
“One can argue that the Sharia supremacists are pursuing communism with a God,” Gaffney stated. “They share a common cause in totalitarianism, despite having different ultimate goals.”
Gaffney, who served as assistant secretary of defense for international security policy under Ronald Reagan, founded the Center for Security Policy in Washington, D.C.
The Nature of the ‘Red-Green Alliance’
The term describes the cooperation between far-left movements, symbolized by red, and Islamist movements, symbolized by green. This alliance seeks to counteract American constitutional values.
During a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing, Sen. Ted Cruz discussed the issue with Kyle Shideler of the Center for Security Policy. Shideler confirmed that the ‘Red-Green Alliance’ is united in a “revolutionary objective” against Americanism, including the Constitution.
Concerns Over Shared Objectives
Gaffney argues that despite differences, these movements are willing to unite over a mutual aim of undermining the United States.
“What they have in common is much more important than their differences,” Gaffney explained.
This alliance has drawn criticism from some Muslim scholars. Dalia Ziada, a critic of Hamas, warned that this nexus threatens the U.S. and Western society.
An investigation by Fox News Digital revealed approximately 425 related organizations involved in coordinated protests, generating about $1 billion annually.
