Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Warren Davidson of Ohio, Tom Barrett of Michigan, and Thomas Massie of Kentucky supported the measure. The resolution passed with a vote of 214 to 208. The same four Republicans had previously opposed Trump’s powers regarding the Iran issue in June.
This vote represents a rare bipartisan challenge to the administration amid growing concerns on Capitol Hill over the escalating conflict. Although largely symbolic, the resolution indicates weakening Republican unity as the Senate considers a similar measure scheduled for later Thursday.
