At the latest report, Polo was positioned approximately 215 miles south of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and was advancing in an east-southeast direction at six miles per hour. The trajectory of Hurricane Polo is anticipated to shift towards the northwest by Tuesday night and Wednesday.
The hurricane is forecast to approach Mexico’s southwestern shoreline over the next few days, maintaining an offshore path. The NHC has reported an escalation in the storm’s wind speeds, now reaching 150 mph.
Polo is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Continued rapid intensification is forecast, and Polo could become a Category 5 hurricane later today,mentioned the agency.
