2 weeks ago 0

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a concert attendee who suffered a fatal brain injury at the Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach. The individual, identified as David Granado Jr., was accompanied by his girlfriend, brother, and friends. After experiencing what was described as a traumatic brain injury, he was hospitalized shortly afterward and died several days later.

A GoFundMe campaign initiated by Granado’s family reveals their efforts to understand the sequence of events during the concert that led to his hospitalization. While the Long Beach Police Department’s preliminary investigation has not detected any signs of foul play, further inquiries are in progress to ascertain whether any criminal activity occurred.

On July 29, 2026, the Long Beach Police Department was alerted about an individual in critical condition at a local hospital, identified as an attendee of the Vans Warped Tour. The private medical service transported him to the hospital, according to a police statement, and on July 31, 2026, authorities were notified of his passing. The county medical examiner is tasked with determining the cause of death.

The Vans Warped Tour, renowned in punk and rock music circles, last year marked its 30th anniversary following an extended hiatus. The tour’s upcoming dates include Montreal, Mexico City, and Orlando, with plans to revisit Washington, D.C., and Long Beach next year.
