Jaclyn Smith, celebrated for her role in “Charlie’s Angels,” shared insights on maintaining her youthful appearance at 80. Her secret, she says, is not makeup but the love she receives.
At the Paley Honors Spring Gala in New York City, Smith reunited with former co-star Kate Jackson to commemorate the series’ 50th anniversary. When asked about her beauty secret, Smith credited “clean living and being loved,” emphasizing her strong family bonds.
I have the best family in the whole wide world to grow up with. Great husband, two beautiful children, three granddaughters. So, it doesn’t get better than that. It’s all about love, all about family with me.
Smith, who portrayed Kelly Garrett from 1976 to 1981, illuminated the event held at the Plaza Hotel. She posted photos on social media, grateful for the legacy of “Charlie’s Angels.”
Fans poured admiration into the comments, praising her classic beauty and timeless role modeling impact. Smith’s role in the series contributed significantly to altering perceptions of women in entertainment.
“Charlie’s Angels” quickly became a cultural phenomenon upon its 1976 release, turning Smith, Jackson, and Farrah Fawcett into household names. Smith remained the sole original Angel throughout the show’s five-season run. The gala celebrated the show’s lasting influence, which Jackson noted continues to air worldwide.
Now living a peaceful farm life in Virginia, Jackson expressed surprise at the show’s enduring appeal. She finds fulfillment away from the spotlight, preferring the calm of rural life.
Smith’s career, beginning in the early 1970s, saw her morph from model to global superstar. Her success continued with critical acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination for “Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy.”
Her personal life, marked by four marriages, found stability with surgeon Brad Allen since 1997, whom she met during her father’s medical treatment.
