Jim Caviezel believes audiences are eager for hero stories as he prepares for his upcoming movie, “Ghost Soldier.” Fox News Digital presents an exclusive first look at the trailer.

“Ghost Soldier” features Caviezel as a former Special Forces soldier and weapons developer named Henry “Fitz” Fitzgerald. The character is thrust back into action when a foreign corporation attempts to take over his hometown. Using his advanced skills and weaponry, he defends his land and community.

The trailer showcases Caviezel’s character in action, protecting his community from a powerful corporation. Caviezel told Fox News Digital that people are looking for characters representing faith, duty, and responsibility.

People want to see someone do the right thing, with all the odds stacked against them. We saw this with ‘Sound of Freedom’. Give them a hero who stands for truth, and audiences will be there. That desire remains strong, Caviezel said.

He connected with the character Fitz due to his heroic traits.

I connected with Fitz right away because he’s a hero, a Green Beret who serves his country, living by a moral code he won’t break, he explained. Fitz can’t ignore injustice, no matter the personal cost. His moral compass and desire for justice drew me to the role.

Previous roles for Caviezel include portraying Jesus in The Passion of the Christ and Tim Ballard in Sound of Freedom, both characters ready to make sacrifices for their beliefs.

I’ve learned that doing the right thing usually comes with a cost, Caviezel shared.

He highlighted a recent trend among Americans in defending their homes and communities, noting how the film aligns with that spirit.

People resonate with protecting what they love. We’ve seen ordinary individuals taking a stand, and that’s the resurgence the film addresses, Caviezel stated.

Ghost Soldier premieres on November 6. The cast includes Olivia Thirlby, Beau Knapp, Garret Dillahunt, and Shea Whigham.
