Late-Night Sports Commentary: A Unique Challenge

During late-night sports events, the spotlight falls on play-by-play commentators. On a recent occasion, Jeff McCarragher found himself in such a position, preparing for a live broadcast at the American Cornhole League World Championships held in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

McCarragher’s preparations for the event were unconventional. He sifted through grainy YouTube clips, found little with Google searches, and dealt with chaotic record books. Despite these challenges, he decided to proceed with the broadcast. His enthusiastic acceptance of this New Year’s Eve assignment had already left him with some regret.
