Kerri Rawson, known as the daughter of the infamous BTK serial killer Dennis Rader, faces a domestic violence injunction. Her ex-husband, Darian Rawson, filed for this after claiming she repeatedly warned of threats to his and their children’s safety.
Rawson became a bestselling author and victim advocate following her father’s 2005 arrest. A judge in Florida has issued an injunction based on Darian Rawson’s reports of several alarming incidents, granting him temporary full custody of their two teenage children. Kerri Rawson’s contact with them is now limited to electronic communications. She cannot visit their home or school or contact the family’s pets.
According to the petition, Kerri Rawson met her former husband at an Altamonte Springs police station on January 5, 2025. She allegedly claimed psychic abilities revealed imminent danger to their children. Further claims involved Kerri Rawson alerting police of family threats, later calling 911 to report active shooters and fatalities at an apartment complex. Responding officers found the family unharmed.
Police located Kerri Rawson at Orlando International Airport, taking her to a hospital where she admitted herself voluntarily. Under Florida’s Baker Act, she was detained for a mental health evaluation. An incident report described her as someone prone to making false statements due to mental health challenges. Subsequently, claims surfaced that she violated the no-contact order by reaching out to Darian Rawson multiple times.
Her father, Dennis Rader, confessed in 2005 to murdering 10 individuals in Wichita, Kansas, between 1974 and 1991. His BTK moniker stood for ‘bind, torture, kill.’ He is serving 10 life terms consecutively without parole. Kerri Rawson’s 2019 memoir, ‘A Serial Killer’s Daughter,’ chronicles her experiences. She has participated in documentaries and television programs about her father’s crimes and advocates for crime victims.
A request for comment from Kerri Rawson’s representative to Fox News Digital was not immediately returned.
