A LongHorn Steakhouse location is under scrutiny after videos reportedly showing unsanitary conditions in its kitchen went viral on social media. The footage, allegedly taken at the Camp Creek Parkway restaurant in East Point, Georgia, shows roaches and food waste, according to a report by FOX 5 Atlanta.
Sean Headley, an employee who started work at the establishment in April, stated he recorded the videos due to safety concerns. He told FOX 5 Atlanta that he had previously informed both restaurant managers and the company’s corporate offices about the conditions but felt ignored. “Really, it was the work environment and the conditions that we were working in,” Headley remarked. “There were a lot of inhumane conditions.”
Headley shared the videos on social media after receiving no response to his concerns. The videos allegedly depict cockroaches in the kitchen area and food waste scattered across the floor.
In response to the allegations, LongHorn Steakhouse issued a statement describing the scenes as “unacceptable” and noted that they have addressed the issues. The company added, “We continue to take the necessary steps to ensure a safe experience for our guests and team members and recently placed a new leader in the restaurant to ensure our strict standards are maintained.”
The Georgia Department of Public Health last inspected the East Point restaurant on August 25, giving it a score of 90, rated as an “A.” Fulton County health officials plan to revisit the restaurant following the viral videos, as reported by WSB-TV in Atlanta.
Headley hopes the incident will lead to broader changes, such as more frequent health inspections at Darden Restaurants’ locations and improvements in workplace conditions, including fixing broken air conditioning systems.
Discussions have erupted online about the restaurant’s conditions, with many questioning how the establishment obtained passing health inspection scores in the past. One user on a Reddit thread commented, “That is beyond unacceptable,” while some urged restaurant workers to report sanitation issues without delay. “We are responsible for not poisoning people, and some of you need to take that job more seriously,” a user noted. Others expressed disbelief at the restaurant’s ability to pass health inspections despite the alleged issues.
Fox News Digital reached out to LongHorn Steakhouse for further comment regarding the situation. The incident raises questions about food establishment maintenance and public health safety.
