A 33-year-old man died following a physical altercation that resulted in a shooting in the West Pullman neighborhood. The incident occurred on Saturday around 4:30 p.m. on South Halsted Avenue, according to authorities.
The man, identified as Davion L. Jackson from the Chicago Lawn area, was involved in an argument with a group when he was shot in the chest. He was transported to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials reported.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has scheduled an autopsy. At present, police have not released information regarding the shooter.
Calumet Area detectives are actively investigating the case to gather more details.
