MLB Reporter Tricia Whitaker Takes Line Drive to the Forearm

1 month ago 0

MLB reporter Tricia Whitaker encountered an unexpected moment while covering a baseball game on Friday night. During the Baltimore Orioles game against the Detroit Tigers for Apple TV, Whitaker was hit by a liner from Adley Rutschman. The ball struck her forearm, prompting medical staff from the Orioles to provide assistance.

Whitaker shared on social media her experience and the swift attention she received. She wrote, “Adley Rutschman’s exit velocity is still elite. My forearm is proof. Found out what it feels like to be the injury update instead of reporting it. 10-day IL, forearm discomfort.” Despite the incident, Whitaker assured her followers she was fine, thanking the medical staff for their help.

The timing allowed Whitaker some recovery, as the subsequent game was postponed due to rain in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This provided her additional rest and relief from covering games over Memorial Day weekend.

The Orioles secured a victory on Friday with a score of 7-4. Rutschman contributed going 2-for-5 and impressively hitting a line drive to Whitaker.

Tricia Whitaker’s spirits remained high as she later shared her outfit for the Indy 500 on Instagram, highlighting her resilience and readiness to face challenges, whether on the field or at an event.
