Ms. Rachel Advocates for Reparations and Political Causes

Children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel, also known as Rachel Accurso, expressed support for reparations on Instagram, referencing Ta-Nehisi Coates’ essay, “The Case for Reparations.” The quote highlights the need to address America’s debt from its history of slavery and segregation:

Two hundred fifty years of slavery. Ninety years of Jim Crow. Sixty years of separate but equal. Thirty-five years of racist housing policy. Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole.

Ms. Rachel appeared on the “TODAY” show on Sept. 24, 2024. Her recent political stance aligns with previous endorsements of Democratic candidates, such as Cori Bush and Abdul El-Sayed.

Accurso also commented on the death of Nolan Wells, suggesting racial bias in the investigation. Her involvement has drawn criticism from figures like former State Attorney Dave Aronberg, who accuses her of promoting division.

Last month, Accurso declared her political intentions to shut down an ICE facility, reinforcing her recent advocacy efforts.
