New York City is holding a public lottery, set to close at 11 a.m. today, to distribute 600 tickets for the Knicks’ championship ceremony at City Hall this week. The event will take place after a parade in Lower Manhattan.
The ceremony is scheduled for noon on Thursday at City Hall Plaza, following a ticker-tape parade through the Canyon of Heroes. From the lottery, 300 winners will be selected, each receiving two tickets to the celebration, according to Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Notifications will be sent out after the lottery concludes.
During the ceremony, attendees can expect speeches and musical performances. Mayor Mamdani will also present Knicks players with keys to the city.
“The Knicks brought together New Yorkers from every borough and every walk of life,” the mayor said in a press release. “That’s why we’re making these tickets free and accessible.”
