North Carolina Road Rage Incident Involving Mother and Child

A mother experienced a frightening road rage incident on a North Carolina interstate. The situation involved another driver allegedly cutting her off, applying brakes unexpectedly, and threatening her life as her 3-year-old son cried in the vehicle.

Myeka Dunn shared her ordeal with FOX8 WGHP, recalling that while traveling to her mother’s house around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, a dark blue sedan suddenly entered her lane. Upon sounding her horn, tensions escalated when the driver aggressively maneuvered to cut her off and shouted threats.

Dunn explained, “They almost hit me, so that’s when I honked my horn at them.”

Dunn began recording the encounter as the driver followed her, repeatedly yelling threats like, “You are going to die!” captured in the video she shared online. Her son’s cries can be heard in the background throughout the incident.

Despite clearly seeing her child in the car, the driver showed no regard for their safety. Dunn contacted 911 and the Guilford Metro non-emergency line to report the episode, expressing disappointment with the response.

Christine Moore, Deputy Director of Operations, acknowledged the dispatcher’s failure to follow protocols fully. While a ‘be on the lookout’ alert (BOLO) was issued, vital information about the video evidence was not communicated.

The Greensboro Police Department confirmed they issued a BOLO alert for a dark blue sedan behaving erratically and threatening other motorists.

Investigators have located the driver, but no arrest has been made. Dunn has been instructed to pursue a misdemeanor warrant as the incident happened outside officer presence. She is in the process of obtaining this warrant.
