A 44-year-old woman named Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell from North Carolina has gone missing while on a trip to Grenada, leading to an urgent search effort. Her family, friends, and authorities are seeking help for her return.

Liz Waddell was last seen on Wednesday at Grand Anse Beach, St. George’s. She was staying in the nearby area. The Royal Grenada Police Force is handling the case. Waddell is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, has short blonde hair, and is a physical therapist based in Raleigh.

Authorities released a photo of her having pink hair. This was to aid in public recognition. Her professional background includes founding Art of Movement Physical Therapy. She holds a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Disappearance Context

According to a long-time friend, Waddell was vacationing in Grenada with another friend. WRAL News reported that the friend stayed at their Airbnb for an online course while Waddell went outside.

“She had her swimsuit on, and she went outside their Airbnb,” said Amanda Romano-Harmon, according to local reports.

Waddell went outside their Airbnb located near a pool overlooking the bay. When the course ended, her friend saw Waddell’s towel on a pier. Assuming she went for a swim, the friend grew worried over time, as Waddell didn’t have her phone. This led to filing a missing-person report.

Her husband, Cailen Waddell, was notified while at work and has since traveled to Grenada to aid the search. He urged anyone with connections to the area to help locate her. He described his wife as “a loving, free-spirited person,” in a conversation with Grenada media.

The police have asked for assistance, especially from local fishermen, boat operators, and residents along Grenada’s southern coastline. An official missing person alert was issued. The search involves police officers, divers, and students from St. George’s University.
