Olympic gold medalist Bode Miller faced arrest earlier this month on drug-related charges, as reported by TMZ Sports. Miller, renowned for winning six Olympic medals, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. After posting a $5,000 bond, Miller secured his release.
According to the report, Miller has entered a plea of not guilty and will appear in court on July 29. His Olympic journey began at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games, where he achieved two silver medals. Despite a setback in Italy four years later, Miller made a rebound at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. There, he claimed a gold medal in the super-combined event, alongside silver and bronze in other skiing categories.
Miller’s career extended beyond the Olympics. He captured four World Championship golds and triumphed in 33 World Cup races, earning the title of the most successful male American alpine skier. In 2001, Miller competed in the Men’s Combined Slalom event at the World Ski Championship in St Anton, Austria.
His achievements include winning the skiing World Cup twice, in 2005 and 2008. Notably, he is the only skier with a minimum of five victories in each skiing discipline. Miller retired from the sport in 2017, having left a significant mark on alpine skiing.
