Unresolved NJ Mom Murder Case
New Jersey authorities continue to investigate the murder of Brooke Hanlon, who was found stabbed in her Chester home. More than a month after the tragic incident, no suspects have been apprehended, and officials are withholding certain details, such as the contents of the 911 call and the involvement, if any, of her husband, James Connor Hanlon. This has left residents puzzled and anxious for answers.
California Mother’s Alleged Murder by Son
In a separate case, a 36-year-old man from California, Safford Wolfson, has been arrested in connection with the murder of his mother, Angela Caprioli. The incident occurred in Laguna Beach, where Caprioli, 61, was discovered deceased at her residence on Dunning Drive. Police were called to the scene for a death investigation shortly after 11 a.m. on the day of the incident.
“I saw her outside talking with him and it seemed like a pretty hostile conversation,” said neighbor Dustin Pettit about a previous incident between the mother and son. “She turned around and went inside and slammed the door, like she was fed up with whatever was going on.”
Wolfson’s actions prior to the incident, including a seemingly hostile argument witnessed by neighbors, have raised suspicions. Pettit described Wolfson as reclusive, having moved into the home about six months earlier and not engaging much with neighbors, apart from occasionally smoking outside and playing the guitar.
Wolfson, identified as a person of interest early in the investigation, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Social media posts associated with him have been brought to light, shedding some glimpses into his relationship with his mother. The New York Post has noted a Facebook comment by Wolfson in 2024, expressing feelings of isolation and a rocky relationship with his mother.
