Patrick Mahomes experienced the most challenging season of his NFL career last year. He endured a season-ending torn ACL during Week 15 of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 season.
The Chiefs ended the season with a 6-11 record, marking their first playoff absence since 2014. Despite the disappointing season, Mahomes remains highly regarded among his NFL peers. On Tuesday, he secured the No. 18 spot in the 2026 NFL Top 100 rankings, a list voted on by active players in the league.
The Chiefs reacted to the announcement on social media, stating, “The no. 18 spot belongs to no. 15,” referring to Mahomes’ jersey number.
Before his injury, Mahomes boasted a 62.7% pass completion rate. He threw for 3,587 yards, with 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Mahomes also achieved a personal best of 422 rushing yards, despite his limited playing time.
His recovery is progressing ahead of schedule. Mahomes is expected to return for the Chiefs’ season-opening “Monday Night Football” game against the Denver Broncos on September 14.
