The initial preseason games didn’t quite align with expectations. Out of three bets, only one was successful, while two were losses. An unexpected scenario unfolded during the Packers and Steelers game, where the Packers managed only nine points. Although the Cardinals and Raiders performed as anticipated, missing the optimal betting number resulted in a loss, as the total hit just 41 points.
As we continue with preseason NFL betting, upcoming games offer opportunities to recover.
Rams vs Chiefs
While Rams vs Chiefs would be thrilling in the regular season, the preseason provides a different dynamic. Matthew Stafford likely won’t play, especially not until perhaps the later preseason games. Patrick Mahomes is not expected to see game time either, leaving the stage to backup players.
Stetson Bennett and Ty Simpson will lead the Rams, competing for the backup spot, likely performing well with ample motivation. Justin Fields, the Chiefs’ new backup with Andy Reid’s offense, should offer intrigue. A quarter of play from Fields would be interesting. The Rams are favored to exceed the over 16.5 points, with numerous weapons and eager quarterbacks enhancing their chances.
Panthers vs Bills
A Panthers vs Bills matchup could have been a Super Bowl showdown last year, although both faced playoff disappointments. This preseason encounter marks the Panthers’ second game, while the Bills play their first match in a new stadium, possibly adding motivation.
In their opener, the Panthers’ Haynes King threw 34 passes, with Kenny Pickett adding 11, alongside 22 runs. If this pattern persists, scoring may be higher. Bryce Young’s potential playtime could also contribute, assuming he participates.
The Bills announce Josh Allen will likely play a series or two, partly due to the new stadium, potentially aiming to integrate DJ Moore into game scenarios. However, Kyle Allen or Shane Buechele’s leadership doesn’t inspire confidence.
Betting on the Panthers with points seems promising. Though a Bills victory might align with the new stadium debut, the Panthers’ backups likely possess better preparation and game rhythm. Opting for Panthers with points is advisable, and considering a moneyline sprinkle could add further value.
