President Trump Schedules Third Medical Checkup at Walter Reed Center

1 month ago 0

President Donald Trump is scheduled for a medical checkup at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday. This marks his third visit to the facility in a little over a year, as reported by the White House. The annual dental and health checkup was initially announced earlier this month, with White House officials referencing a May 11 statement when approached by Newsweek on Monday.

Throughout his term, President Trump has frequently questioned the health of his predecessor, President Joe Biden. Since returning to office in January 2025, Trump’s own health has generated its fair share of inquiries. While representatives insist that he maintains excellent health, some medical experts have expressed skepticism, particularly due to Trump’s age, nearing 80.

April 11, 2025: First Physical of Second Term

Shortly after his return to office last year, President Trump visited Walter Reed for his annual physical. The examination, lasting approximately five hours, included a range of tests such as bloodwork, cardiac assessments, CT scans, and ultrasounds. Additionally, he completed neurological and cognitive screening, which he claimed to have passed successfully. He emphasized that all presidents should undergo such assessments. The White House declared him to be in “excellent health” and fully capable of serving.

Despite the comprehensive nature of the report, it adhered to the norm of presidential control over released health information, leaving certain details undisclosed. The cognitive test led to further questioning regarding Trump’s mental health.

In July of the same year, Trump underwent a detailed medical evaluation due to swelling in his lower legs and ankles, accompanied by noticeable bruises on his hands. This unscheduled visit ignited conversations about his health, as Trump sometimes appeared in public with his hands covered. Concerned Democrats and medical professionals questioned why the White House released decisions in response to viral images showing the president’s physical condition.

October 10, 2025: ‘Semiannual’ Follow-Up at Walter Reed

October saw another visit to Walter Reed, described as a “semiannual” checkup by the president himself despite his previous yearly physical in April. This visit comprised standard procedures, MRI scans, and additional lab tests. The White House chose to keep further details under wraps regarding the specific purpose of this examination.

May 2026 Visit: Key Information

As noted in the White House announcement earlier this month, Trump’s upcoming hospital visit is portrayed as routine. “This will include the President’s routine annual dental and medical assessments as part of his regular preventive health care,” stated the May 11 communication. “The President will also spend time with service members and staff at Walter Reed in recognition of their service, professionalism, and dedication to the nation.”

Despite its routine nature, the visit is expected to attract attention, with both supporters and critics closely monitoring what the White House divulges concerning the exams and any possible treatments the president undergoes.
