The Boston Red Sox have achieved a significant milestone, winning their 15th consecutive game. This victory ties the club record for the longest winning streak in their history, a record originally set 80 years ago by the 1946 American League champions led by Ted Williams. The Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 in the first game of a split doubleheader.

Jarren Duran played a crucial role in the game, contributing with a two-run triple and a sacrifice fly. Caleb Durbin, who previously hit a tiebreaking home run to secure the team’s 14th straight win on Monday, added a two-run single to the tally. Additionally, Ceddanne Rafaela hit a solo home run for Boston, making up for a rain-delayed game from Tuesday.

For the Orioles, Christian Encarnacion-Strand managed a solo home run, marking his second home run in two games. Red Sox rookie left-hander Jake Bennett pitched for 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits. One of the runs was due to an RBI double by Tyler O’Neill. Bennett experienced a scare when he took a 102.8 mph line drive to the stomach but continued pitching after being checked by team staff. Aroldis Chapman secured the final three outs for his 23rd save of the season and 390th of his career, tying him with Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley for ninth place on the all-time saves list.

In the opening inning, the Red Sox quickly established a 4-0 lead against Orioles’ pitcher Dean Kremer, aided by Durbin’s line single and Duran’s two-out hit. Encarnacion-Strand reduced the lead with his home run in the fourth inning. However, Rafaela countered with his own home run over the Green Monster, keeping the Red Sox ahead. Kremer pitched for six innings, conceding six runs during the game.
