A rescue dog named Maggie is charming everyone online. Her daycare report card revealed a repetitive and specific habit that captures her personality.
Tori Parks and her husband, Camden, adopted Maggie from a humane society when she was three months old. Now one year old, they believe Maggie is a mix of Staffordshire bull terrier, pit bull, and Labrador. To help Maggie socialize and stay enriched, the couple often takes her to a doggy daycare, according to Parks during her conversation with Newsweek.
Each daycare visit includes a “report card” for owners. It details the dog’s mood, behaviors, activities, friendships, and staff observations. Though the Parks family is used to receiving these cards, a recent one left them amused.
On May 28, Parks shared photos of the report card and screenshots of the daycare’s live camera feed on Maggie’s TikTok account, @maggiemoomoo123. The images showed Maggie perched confidently in the teacher’s chair, overseeing the room as if she were supervising the other dogs.
“They have cameras in the room, so when I checked in on her, I saw her sitting in the chair,” Parks explained. “So, I had to screenshot it! Then they ended up writing it in the report card. She sits there every time she is there!”
The daycare staff’s observation wasn’t unique. Parks mentioned that whenever she checks the daycare cameras, Maggie is usually found in the chair. She believes the dog feels more comfortable in this spot and spends increasing amounts of time there with each visit.
“I was laughing so hard,” Parks recalled. “What they write in these report cards perfectly sums up her personality. She sits there every time she is there.”
Although this behavior is uncommon in daycare, it’s normal at home. Parks shared that Maggie often sits in chairs like a human and even joins the family at the dinner table. “She knows when I’m about to serve dinner or when the timer signals that dinner needs to be taken out of the oven,” she said. “This means dinner is almost ready, so she takes her seat.”
The couple embraces Maggie’s human-like habits. Maggie is deeply woven into their daily lives and they refer to her as their “only child.” They spoil her, allowing her to embrace her human-like traits.
Beyond her love for the teacher’s chair, Maggie has received positive feedback at daycare. Parks noted that all her report cards are glowing and the family proudly displays them on their refrigerator.
