In early July, a heat wave hit the Eastern United States, prompting me to reach out to a friend in Northern England. Europe was under a heat dome at that time. On the day before our conversation, the United Kingdom experienced its hottest day ever recorded. This record was exceeded the day I messaged him, and it continued to rise the following day.
As heat records break across continents, it indicates significant climate changes that could see years like this become routine. Understanding these shifts is essential to preparing for a hotter future.
