Solo travel is increasingly popular as more people seek independence alongside connections and activities with others.
Google reported in April 2026 that online searches for ‘solo travel’ reached their highest point ever. Particularly, searches for ‘women solo travel’ attained a peak not seen in 15 years.
According to Hilton’s 2026 trends report, 26% of travelers intended to journey alone this year. Nearly half of these travelers also planned to incorporate solo days before or after family trips.
This shift is prompting the travel industry, traditionally focused on pairs, to adapt to the growing interest in solo adventures.
