Recently, a Coral Springs convenience store faced disruptions in food delivery due to a rodent infestation. The latest inspection, conducted by Timothy O’Neil from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, highlighted ongoing issues at Citgo Food Mart, located at 10380 Royal Palm Rd.
Previous inspections warned of pest problems at this store, which is owned by Stores Management, LLC, with officers Alloudin Bhullar and Nawshad Chowdhury. During an inspection in May, about 100 fresh rodent droppings were discovered under machines and in various store sections. The droppings were found in places like the frozen soda machine area, coffee bar, processing room, three-compartment sink area, and other spaces.
O’Neil also found rodent droppings inside cabinets beneath the coffee bar and near single-use items. The backroom contained droppings in boxes of cups on a shelf near the ceiling. Due to such findings, the store received multiple Stop Use Orders for food processing areas, including machines for sodas, coffee, and frozen soda, as well as hot food equipment.
The inspector issued a stern warning: if evidence of an infestation is seen in the next scheduled inspection, a Stop Sale Order for all foods would be enforced. More warnings stated that pest issues could lead to prohibition on receiving additional food items.
On Wednesday, the situation worsened with the discovery of a dead rodent under the sink and fresh droppings in several areas. Consequently, the Citgo Food Mart failed its June 3 inspection. Until pest control measures are properly implemented, the store cannot serve food or drinks.
