Senator Chris Coons, a Democrat from Delaware, revealed plans for a full recovery following minor injuries sustained in a car accident. The incident occurred in Delaware due to a driver suffering a medical emergency.
Coons explained that he was among the passengers in vehicles struck during the accident. He was taken to Beebe Hospital for medical care. In messages shared online, he expressed gratitude toward first responders and medical staff. He noted relief that, according to reports, no serious injuries occurred in the crash.
Earlier today, a Delaware driver experienced a medical incident and collided with several cars, including one in which I was a passenger. I was transported to Beebe Hospital and treated for minor injuries. I’m now home and expected to make a full and swift recovery.
Coons also acknowledged his thanks to responders for their quick and professional efforts, along with the hospital personnel who attended to him.
The accident serves as a reminder of how unexpected medical emergencies can lead to incidents on the road.
