1 hour ago 0

Four individuals required hospitalization after a tree fell near the entrance of Six Flags Over Georgia during severe weather Sunday. This incident took place as strong storms swept through the Austell, Georgia area, according to a statement from Six Flags Over Georgia to Fox News Digital.

Park officials said, “During severe weather that was impacting the park, medical staff and local EMS responded to four guests who were struck by a fallen tree near the park’s entrance.” The victims were taken to a local hospital for further assessment.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the metro Atlanta area on Sunday evening.

A video on Facebook depicted emergency responders, including fire trucks and ambulances, at the scene, working near several fallen trees and large branches. A witness described the day as “a relaxing day at Six Flags” until the sudden storm led to the accident. The tree reportedly fell near the exit walkway, impacting guests as they exited the park. “Prayers for the people that were hurt,” the person commented.

Images shared on Reddit indicated a large tree had collapsed across part of the park, with some suggesting it affected the Mindbender roller coaster track. One user noted, “It didn’t look like the track was bent. But it was a thick tree, so I couldn’t tell if anything was broken.” However, Six Flags has not confirmed any damage to rides or whether park operations were halted.

In a previous incident reported by Fox News Digital, severe weather injured five at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Strong winds caused a metal cabana frame to collapse onto crowded area guests at the rooftop DAER Club. Video footage captured guests and employees lifting the frame sections to help those trapped before emergency services arrived. Five were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
